CHAPTER 7
Optimizing the Visibility of your perfect blog post on Google
Optimize your perfect blog post for Google
Nothing to say – you did a great job.
But you know what? You can do even better.
Beyond the perfect blog post and its content, there are a number of small optimizations and configurations that can allow you to further improve your SEO on Google and, therefore, your chances of your perfect blog post being “found.” by more people.
Here are 5 essential tips to gain favor with search engines.
TIP # 1 – 1500 words minimum
In the eyes of Google, a page with good content should contain at least 1,500 words.
Writing blog posts that are longer than this number of words is best.
TIP # 2 – Use short URLs
Your Page URL is what you see in your browser’s address bar when you visit a page. This is the unique name of your page on the Internet.
Most publishing tools give you a default URL, but you can customize it yourself.
Google especially likes short URLs – with as few words and “/” as possible. You have to stick to the minimum number of keywords possible.
On average, a page with a short URL is twice as visible on Google as an identical page with a long URL.
TIP # 3 – Fill in the meta description of your perfect blog post
The meta description is the short description you can see on Google below the title.
Google Autocomplete
The short text underlined in yellow corresponds to the meta description of the home page of the Mobius Web site.
Just like your URL, you can also customize this meta description for each page. And we strongly encourage you to do so!
Here are a few things to know to write an effective meta description:
Restrict to 150 characters maximum.
Use the keywords and their lexical fields.
Summarize the content by implying that it will provide answers to the Internet user.
Make the meta description attractive to drive clicks to your content (see tips for page titles).
After the title, this is the second piece of information available to Internet users on Google. It is crucial to help them decide whether to click on your blog post or the neighbor’s.
So it’s up to you to make them want to read your perfect blog post by writing a quality meta description!
Tip #4: Add external links
Google gives more credit to your perfect blog post content if it is based on reliable sources. And your most demanding readers, too.
Therefore, do not hesitate to include links to the pages or sites that you used to write your own content (you will find many examples on this page).
3 or 4 external links are sufficient per a perfect blog post for Google, but feel free to include more if necessary.
TIP # 5 and internal links!
Internal links are important, and these links lead to other pages on your site.
These links will allow you to:
Improve the “internal mesh” of your site, that is to say, the links between its different pages. This is an important point for the good SEO of your site on Google.
To promote your own content by leading your reader to read other of your articles or to visit your product pages.
Strengthen your credibility by being able to cite other articles that you have written yourself as a reference.
3 or 4 internal links are also sufficient for a perfect blog post of 2000 words or less.
WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER
These few points can easily be overlooked since they are “invisible” to your readers, but make no mistake: forgetting them will cost you dearly in visibility.
Make sure your URL is short and matches your article’s keywords.
The meta description should ALWAYS be filled in, making readers want to read your perfect blog post even more.
Add a handful of external and internal links to support your point.
It’s over!
Your perfect blog post is ready to go, and readers will grab it soon, and your perfect blog post will be on Google in a matter of weeks.
What? Isn’t that fast enough for you? Alright – then, the next and final chapter is for you.
We will explain how to speed up the distribution of your perfect blog post and how to promote it yourself simply and effectively.

Use Facebook well to promote your perfect blog post
There are two effective ways to advertise your content on Facebook:
Share your article on your professional or personal page
Please note that only people who already follow you will see the post. It’s a good start, but you will need more than this type of sharing to allow you to reach new fans.
Using Facebook Ads
Even though this service is paid (a few cents per click), you can get by on a very small budget by:
Take advantage of Facebook offers, which regularly give you several dozen euros of free advertising.
You are targeting very precisely the population you want to reach. You’ll get fewer clicks, but you’ll receive them from a much more qualified audience with a better chance of becoming a customer.
Whichever option you choose, it’s up to you to compose a post that will make your network want to click on your link. The same rules apply: be concise, emphasize your article’s added value and benefits, etc.
To help you, here is an example of a Mobius post:
Google Autocomplete
Use emojis that work well on Facebook.
Write a short intro that clearly states the issue you are addressing.
Enter your contact details (at least your website).
Choose a beautiful image to illustrate your perfect blog post (configurable on your publication tool)—recommended size: 1200 × 628 px.
Your title and the start of your meta description will appear here.

Communicate on LinkedIn
If your business is more B2B, this is where you need to communicate.
The “natural” dissemination of your post on Linkedin is wider than on Facebook (or you have to pay quickly to reach more people.).
In terms of formatting, the same rules apply. But keep in mind that the audience on Linkedin is much more “pro” – avoid emojis and try to sound a little less familiar than you would on Facebook.

Publish a newsletter
If you have set up a newsletter with your customers or fans, this is the perfect place to communicate about your new perfect blog post.
In theory, people who see your newsletter are interested in your content and will be much more likely to read your new perfect blog post than a stranger on Facebook or Linkedin.
Broadcast by direct email
Your perfect blog post can be a great ally in starting a conversation with a prospect or even closing a sale.
If you have identified a potential customer or key person who might be interested in your blog post, feel free to send them the link to your perfect blog post directly.
To maximize your chances of getting a response, here are some basic rules to follow:
Personalize your email – refer to the news of the person you’re talking to, or something you share, whatever. But never send impersonal “direct mail” emails that end up in your contact’s recycle bin.
Make it clear why you think this perfect blog post might be of interest to him – it will increase the chances that your contact will take a look at your page.
Invite your recipient to come back to you if they liked the blog post, have questions, or if you can help. The important thing is to trigger an action with your interlocutor, not just to share your perfect blog post out of pure kindness 😃
Don’t forget the basics of politeness! Put the shapes according to your interlocutor. It is silly to say, but it will only make your contact better think of you and increase the chances that they will follow the link you sent them.
WHAT YOU MUST REMEMBER
Do not hesitate to go all out to promote your perfect blog post: the more engagement you have (likes, comments, shares, etc.), the more people will see and read it. Google will also consider this traffic as a guarantee of quality and more easily push your perfect blog post in its results.
The three essential distribution channels are:
Social networks, depending on which one of those correspond to you
The newsletter will allow you to target an already acquired audience and is more likely to like and share your content.
Direct email to your customers or prospects, provided you include your subject and explain your approach.
