Make Whole Chicken

  • 1½ kg whole chicken
  • 1 ½ cup yogurt
  • One teaspoon of red chili powder
  • One teaspoon cumin
  • ½ tablespoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes
  • ½ teaspoon of all spices
  • Two tablespoon vinegar
  • One teaspoon (heaped) garlic ’ and ginger paste

Homemade Whole Chicken

Wash the chicken thoroughly and dry completely to avoid seepage of blood while cooking. Now, mix all the ingredients well except the chicken to form a paste. Then, put a small cut on the whole chicken, marinate it with the ready mixture, cover, and leave for 4 hours (overnight marinating gives the best result).

In a deep cooking pan, add two tablespoons of oil and the chicken marinated in the oil. Then, cook on low heat until the chicken becomes tender. Turn the whole chicken upside down halfway through cooking and cook for at least an hour on both sides. Coat the chicken with gravy and dish it out when it is done.

Serve with stir-fried vegetables and garlic rice with this whole chicken platter.
