It was first held in 1951, and since then, it has become an international phenomenon, with contestants from all over the world vying for the coveted title. Miss World 2011 – Ivian Sarcos

Representing Venezuela, Ivian Sarcos was crowned Miss World on November 6, 2011, in London, UK. After her parents’ death at the age of eight, she experienced many struggles, which made the beauty queen a self-made woman. She was raised by the nuns of the Cojedes convent. She has also won the titles of Miss Venezuela and Most Beautiful Face.

 Miss World 2012 – Yu Wenxia

After naming the Miss China 2012 title to herself, Yu Wenxia went on to own the crown of Miss World 2012 as well. The beauty pageant was held in China, and 116 contestants participated from all over the world. The black-haired beauty is an expert in Chinse folk songs, which also led her to win the Miss Talent Award in the pageant. Yu Wenxia was also a part of the film The Transporter Refueled.

Miss World 2013 – Megan Young

This was the 63rd edition of the International Miss World pageant, which witnessed Megan Young as its winner. As of 2024, this pageant counted the biggest turnout of contestants to be from 127 countries across the world.  Young is a multi-talented title winner, hosting various television shows and acting in a few films while taking film-making courses. She also won the crow of Miss Philippines in 2013. Her philanthropic works include supporting The Sun newspaper in the relief activities for the survivors of typhoons in the Philippines.

She is yet another blue-eyed beauty. Representing South Africa, Rolene Strauss was crowned Miss World 2014 after defeating 121 contestants. The beauty queen has won several pageants previously, including Elite Model Look, South Africa, at the age of 15. She is also the winner of Miss South Africa in 2014. The pageant queen is the Chairperson of The Strauss Foundation, a not-for-profit organization.

Miss World 2015 – Mireia Lalaguna

Mireia Lalaguna, the first woman from Spain, was crowned Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China. She is also the winner of Miss Spain 2015 and Miss Atlantico International 2015. She mesmerizes people with her long blonde hair and attractive blue eyes. However, she is a person with beauty and brains. She earned a pharmacy degree from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.

Miss 2016 – Stephanie Del Valle

She is a Puerto Rican beauty who won the Miss World 2016 title in Washington, D.C., U, and de Puerto Rico 2016. Her glossy hair, glowing skin, and attractive brown eyes genuinely make her the takeaway queen of the year. Along with being beautiful, she is graceful and intelligent. She has pursued a degree in Law and Communication at Pace University, New York.

Miss World 2017 – Manushi Chhillar

Manushi Chhillar is the sixth woman from India to win the beauty title. She is beautiful and has an infectious smile. She was crowned in Sanya, China, in November 2017. Previously, the beauty queen also won Femina Miss India 2017 and the title of Miss Photogenic in the same pageant. She is an excellent Kuchipudi dancer after being trained by legendary dancers like Raja, Radha Reddy, and Kaushalya Reddy. She also attended the National School of Drama.

Miss 2018 – Vanessa Ponce de León

She is the first Mexican beauty to be crowned Miss World in 2018. A degree-holder in International Business, she served on the Board of Directors of a rehab center for girls and was the winner of Mexico’s Next Top Model in 2014. The beauty queen is very passionate about volunteering for real causes and is a continuous part of organizations that offer support to disabled persons.

Miss World Of 2019 – Toni Ann Singh

Amongst the impressive list of Miss World winners, Toni Ann Singh from Jamaica is yet another addition to the winners list. The beauty queen longed to be a doctor and took a year off from school before participating in the pageant. Her winning the title has been inspiring for various reasons, and one is that she is the first black woman to have won the title since 2001 when Agbani Darego of Nigeria won the title. Another significant milestone was that she was the first time in history when a black woman held all five beauty pageants, including Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss USA, Miss America, and Miss Teen USA.

Miss 2020

The international Miss World pageant was not held this year due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.
