Chicken Coffee Curry

Ingredients:

  • 2 chicken breasts for non-vegetarians or
  • Or Tofu for vegetarians
  • A cup of green peas
  • A tablespoonful of peanut butter
  • One cup of pure black coffee
  • One cup of sliced onions
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • Half a teaspoon of cumin
  • One teaspoon of curry powder
  • A quarter teaspoon of cardamom
  • Two tablespoons honey
  • One cup of soy milk
  • Little olive oil

Chicken Coffee Curry

Preparation Method:

Sprinkle a large pan with olive oil and put the pan on medium heat. Put in the chicken (for vegetarians, there is another step to follow) along with the garlic cloves and chopped onions and fry until the chicken turns golden brown.

For vegetarians, except for the chicken, other ingredients are put in the pan and fried till the garlic and onions turn golden brown. Once done, add tofu and follow the next step.

Now add other ingredients except coffee and stir the ingredients before covering up the pan for some time, to let the aroma infuse in the ingredients. Let it simmer on low heat for an hour, with intermittent stirring, to avoid burning the chicken or other ingredients.

Afterward, uncover the pan and add the strong black coffee, stirring the ingredients to thoroughly mix the coffee with the resulting curry.

Let the pan be under the heat to thicken the Chicken Coffee Curry.
