How to Cook Beef Karahi

- 1 cup yogurt

How to Make Beef Karahi:
- Heat the vegetable or cooking oil in a large karahi or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat.
- Include the cumin seeds and sizzle them for a few seconds. Then, add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Combine the ready ginger-garlic paste, yogurt and cook for one minute or until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the beef pieces and make them brown on all sides. This may take about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the beef becomes browned, include the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook the mixture until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
- Lower the heat to medium, cover the karahi with a lid, and let the beef simmer in its juices for about 20-30 minutes or until it becomes tender. Stir occasionally and add a little water if needed to prevent sticking.
- When the beef is cooked and the oil starts to separate from the gravy, add garam masala and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
